Sunday Morning Bible Study
Pastor Bessette will be leading us through our Foundations of Faith bible study beginning in Fall of 2024 & ending on Pentecost. Bible study takes place on Sunday morning from 10:15am to 11:00am. Enjoy the fellowship, coffee and deserts as you search out the scriptures, and study what God has to say to you this day.
Thursday Morning Bible Study
Pastor Bessette leads this Bible study every Thursday morning at Barnes & Noble, located at the Holyoke Crossing, from 10:00am to 11:00am year round.
Pancakes With Pastor
The first Saturday of every month October through June, at 9:00am everyone is treated to a hearty breakfast of pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, fruit salad, coffee, orange juice and wonderful fellowship. Then at 10:00am to 11:00am the men go to Bible study led by Pastor Bessette and the women go to Bible study with First Lutheran School Principal Marianne Bischoff. Come join us for this wonderful opportunity to be fed both physically and spiritually!
The Ladies Guild
The Ladies Guild is a group of ladies who do what they can, to help where they can and whoever they can. They frequently host bake sales at the church to raise money to help families in need at Christmas and those who are out of work due to illness. The Ladies Guild is also known for sending cards on the Holidays to our shut-ins, those who are sick and home bound. They also help to help keep the outside of our church in tip-top shape by planting flowers, cutting branches and pulling weeds. In addition, the Ladies Guild does what they can to help our Pastor. They are women of the church who care and help wherever and whenever they can!
Wednesday Night Adult Instruction Class
These classes make up an introductory course for prospective adult members of First Lutheran Church with a look at the Christian Faith (think “Christianity 101?). Taking between ten and twelve weeks depending on questions and discussion, the course covers the six chief articles of Luther’s Small Catechism (Lord’s Prayer, Lord’s Supper, Baptism, Absolution and Confession, Ten commandments, and the Creeds), including Church History and Lutheranism. Please speak with Pastor Bessette to find out when the next set of classes will begin.
